The standards listed below reflect the minimum requirements to work as an educational interpreter in this state.

  • Pre-Service Education: AA/AS and one of the following: 12 semester hour-credits of Professional Education Coursework OR Certificate of Educational Interpreting from an accredited 2-year or 4-year college
  • Skill Verification: EIPA 3.5
  • Knowledge Verification:  Yes, EIPA:WT
  • Renewal Timeline: N/A
  • Continuing Education:  No
  • Additional Comments:  State offers a Cued Speech Transliteration Endorsement. See documentation for further details.

  • Is a provisional credential available?   Yes
  • What is required for the provisional credential?  AA/AS, EIPA 3.5
  • How long can one hold a provisional credential?  Four years
