NAIE Updates

Happy New Year Members!

Everyone here at NAIE hopes you all had a wonderful holiday season, and that 2024 is starting off on a good note. We have some fun things planned for the year and we can't wait to see you at our first webinar of the year on Saturday, January 20.

RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY

Call for Survey Participation: Supporting DHH Students with ADHD

I am conducting a study to understand how school sign language interpreters support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students with ADHD. If you work with a student who displays behaviors commonly associated with ADHD, your insight is vital to my study. The survey seeks to explore strategies that you use, challenges you face, and gaps in interpreter training. Participation involves a 15-minute electronic survey, with your responses remaining confidential. Thank you for considering. Your input can make a significant difference.

The survey can be found here: https://wou.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5hloDcRLbdNQ90

Tool of January

The American Association of Interpreters and Translators in Education(AAITE) recently released their Code of Ethics. This is important information to be aware of since much of the language in the AAITE Code of Ethics parallels the language used in the NAIE Code of Ethics. https://aaite.memberclicks.net/assets/docs/AAITE_%20CoE_Interpreters_v1.0.pdf
